There is a clear distinction between the Old Testament and the New Testament. They are not merely divisions of biblical writings but represent two distinct relationships within God’s redemptive plan.
In the time of Jesus Christ and the holy apostles, the Scriptures referred to were the books from Genesis to Malachi. Paul affirmed that these Scriptures are inspired by God and are able to make one wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
However, the inspiration of Scripture does not mean that every statement recorded in the Bible was spoken or endorsed by God Himself. Within Scripture, we encounter the words of angels, unbelievers, and even the devil. Therefore, Scripture must be read carefully, studied diligently, and rightly divided in order to be properly understood.
When Scripture is rightly interpreted as a whole, it reveals one unified story centred on one Person—Jesus Christ. He is the fulfilment and central message of the entire Bible.
This forms the heart of this study: to understand Scripture through the light of the New Testament and to draw truths that shape and guide our faith walk in Christ.
